Why are houses lifted?
Houses that are built in flood zones on the East and West Coasts of America are vulnerable to today’s changing climate and the severity of storms. With flood insurance premiums rising, Emerald Isle decided to get into the house lifting business.
What is involved?
I’ve had the opportunity to raise houses and structures that have been affected by Hurricane Sandy – including my own house. Through my personal experience, I know how to navigate the process from start to finish. Emerald Isle works with clients on the process of securing permits for the initial lifting which includes architects, surveyors and engineers. After securing the permit, Emerald Isle will proceed to lift the property and work with masons, carpenters, landscapers. Having the entire project done within one company takes pressure and time off the homeowner while saving significant cost.
